About Horse:Free to the perfect, forever home. At this point we are only considering homes where these two could stay together - please do not message for the mini only. We would like to have the option to visit them once or twice a year.
Bo is a 15.3 double registered paint/pinto gelding. He is in his mid-twenties. He is very well bred and educated, but hasn't been ridden regularly in several years. I was using him on a small scale for lessons prior to that. He is quiet with beginners. He has soft white feet and requires front shoes in order to be comfortable whether he is being worked or not, but he can be stretched a 2-3 months per reset, depending on what is expected of him. They both had their feet done on 9/6.
He has a steady walk, a lovely jog, and a comfortable canter. We can see him as a good fit for someone who wants to do light trail riding, western, dressage, etc. I have video of him being ridden in August. No vices and great disposition. He has Cushings and requires a Prascend pill every day (cost from Cornell is $115 for 60-day supply). This causes him not to shed his winter coat very well, and we usually clip him in the spring. He holds weight quite well on pasture and gets senior feed twice a day.
His partner is Mitsy, she is a mini. She is in your pocket and very sweet, but not really educated. She is not broke to ride or drive. If you go out in the field she comes right over and will stay in your pocket until you leave. She absolutely loves being groomed, and also loves small people who can get on her level. There is nothing marish or nasty about her. She needs to live in a dirt lot or wear a grazing muzzle in the summer, otherwise her feet get sore from too much grazing. She gets a couple carrots at grain time, and limited hay.
Some equipment may be available to go with them (halters, leads, brushes, blanket, lunge line, etc.) Be prepared to answer a lot of questions and spend some time getting to know us.
