About Horse:
King of the Road is his registered name. He is a Friesian Sport Horse gelding standing at 15.2 hands tall. He Rides & Drives! King has the drafty build of the Friesian with thick legs and big feet he can easily carry a bigger rider. And he has the Friesian movement so very eye catching under harness.King has a lot of experience under his cinch more than most. And because of that he’s just a real solid citizen and versatile in more ways than one with the ability to go into any direction you want to continue with him.
So for driving he’s mostly been driven down quiet country roads, but he has also been down some busier highways. So he’s seen the typical traffic cars and trucks, but he has also had some bigger traffic like tractors go by and he did fine with it all.
Under saddle he rides right in-between your legs and picks up his correct leads. He has had arena work and is comfortable working in an arena. Has a nice smooth lope. And for his trot he can do a slow trot that is easy to post to or more of an extended trot if you ask.
He is an absolute trail machine he will go anywhere I point him he’s very confident and does NOT spooky easy. So we have been doing a ton of trails hauling all over the countryside. He crosses the little wooden bridges, the mucky creeks, and he’ll step right in the river without any hesitations. He can easily tackle the steep banks up or down them he’s very sure footed.
He has a willing to please attitude and will literally do anything I ask no hesitations. Rides away from home alone and will separate out on the trail. He doesn’t mind if the other horse gets up ahead of him or if he leaves the other horse behind. He’s very sensible that way.
He’s had deer and other critters pop out of the brush and it has never bothered him. Ground manners are excellent stands still for the farrier, tacking, and mounting. Loads in and backs right out of the trailer. He’s friendly and easy to catch. Gets along out in the pasture middle of the pecking order.
NO bad habits, vices, or maintenance with him. He really has a lot of sense and has an awesome start to life he’s young enough to go into any direction you want to put him. He’s very smart and catches on to new things very quickly he takes after the Friesian in that way.
So if you are looking for an absolute trail machine that is confident out on the trails and will take you anywhere you want to go King is your guy. He is the King of the Road. Nothing phases him.
And as a side note the farrier does hot shoeing with him because he stands that good. He comes up to date on shots, dewormings, coggins, vet check, etc. Just call if you want to set up a time to come see him or have any questions.
