About Horse:
American Eagle aka “Flashlight” is a very flashy coming 5 yr old Registered Missouri Foxtrotter Gelding. As you will see in the videos, flashlight has done pretty much everything from trail riding with several different riders. He’s been ridden in the Colorado mountains, the Ozark, Missouri mountains, and all over Illinois by both youth and senior citizen riders. We’ve done about everything with flashlight. He rides Western, English, and of course, pulls the buggy. He is easy to catch, haul, load and shoe. Flashlight a small horse and amateur friendly. He stands 14.1 hands tall and weighs right at 800 pounds. So, if you’re looking for that small trail companion with a lot of flash, I’m sure you will enjoy “Flashlight. He’s a super smooth ride that could be your trail partner for many years.BREEDING: Flashlight has some of the best breeding that you will find in the Missouri fox charting world. If you look at his papers, he has Hall of Fame horses on both top and bottom side. His grandsire on the top side is the great Jester’s Charming Legend who is in the Hall of Fame.
He also has the Hall of Fame and one of the founders of the breed Missouri Traveler on both sides of his papers.
DISPOSTION: Flashlight has a very gentle easy-going disposition as you can see in the videos. He’s always willing to do whatever we ask anywhere from riding with kids, riding double pulling the buggy or going shopping in the tractor supply store. He’s just a cool horse to hang out with.
GAIT: Flashlight’s gate is super smooth. He does a nice smooth, running walk, foxtrot and he loves to canter.
EXPERIENCE: In the past 2 1/2 years of training, flashlight has had a ton of experience. As I said earlier, we hauled him on our Colorado trip, the Ozark mountains down in Missouri and all over Illinois and Kentucky. He rides both English, and Western. He pulls the buggy as you can see in the video.
TRAINING: We have had Flashlight on our farm since he was five months old. He was halter broke when he was just five months old and of course tied up and brushed and played with. He was handled so much as a baby. Our trainers have used the natural horsemanship method on all of his training. As you can see in this video, he is super soft and doesn’t try to pull through your hands. You can ride him on a loose rein, bare back and even without a bridle.
SUITABLE FOR RIDERS: We believe Flashlight is suitable for most any rider. If you are an amateur, or youth and want an easy-going horse I believe Flashlight will be the guy for you. We have had kids, senior citizens and everyone in between riding him over the past couple of years. Feel free to make an appointment to come visit Flashlight and take him for a ride yourself. Give us a call at 618-530-8751 Thank you.
