Violet is a fun and remarkable trail partner. Easy to catch, Violet loves people, lots of attention and has a sweet personality. She will ride every day with you or once a month – she is the same every time. She has also raised six registered MFTHBA babies and is a wonderful mother. She was recently (June 2025) verified as sound to breed. Violet has a natural and comfortable slow walk and is smooth at every gait and speed. From the “whoa versus go” scale of 1-10, I would place her at 5. She has energy but is absolutely manageable if the task is to slow down or speed up. Violet is excellent with the farrier, vet and loads great every time. She LOVES bathes, fly sprays without batting an eye, and clips with ease. She is the first to the barn and enjoys being in the barn, especially in front of a fan. Violet is sure-footed and has been ridden in rugged terrain as well as roads and is comfortable with traffic of all sorts. She plunges through creeks and puddles on the trail, over logs and through ditches. Violet will pack saddle bags, horn bags plus extra passengers. I have ridden her many miles by herself and in crowds. She will lead, ride in the middle or follow with ease. One of Violet’s best features is that you will never know she’s a mare! I have ponied young horses from her, been bumpedinto by other riders in a parade and she has never squealed or kicked with any of this. I have ridden her during her cycles with no issues whatsoever. You can catch Violet anywhere, and I have ridden her bareback with a halter and lead rope. She has three dog buddies and has no fear of dogs. She is in the middle of the pecking order here and has been in with other mares and geldings with no issues. Violet is ready for her forever partner and will be a delight to own. She is an excellent prospect for the advanced beginner type who is confident enough to guide her and remind her that the trail is not her personal buffet.
