He is a versatile trail and sport horse best suited for a confident, quiet, experienced rider who can appreciate his sensitivity and athletic potential. River has been extensively trail ridden alone and in groups. He crosses water, bridges, and obstacles, side passes to open and close gates, backs, and walks on a loose rein. He has ponied horses, donkeys, and mules and is comfortable around traffic and cattle. River is a strong dressage prospect and has been schooled over novice cross-country jumps. He has competed in ranch classes and obstacle challenges, earning multiple ribbons. He is easy to catch, stands for the farrier, trailers well, and stands tied quietly.
