A beautiful chocolate Rocky Mountain mare. Rocky Mama is 4 years old and stands 14.1 hh. She is a cute mare with a stout mountain horse look, a refined head, and a beautiful flowing mane and tail. Rocky Mama is grade, but could be registered through KMSHA appendix program if one desired to do so. She has been started slow and correctly. Rocky Mama has a solid foundation and already has some experience under her belt. She loads and backs from any trailer with no problem, is easy to be around while grooming and tacking up, stands to mount and dismount, and has some trail experience. Rocky Mama has a gentle disposition, typical of mountain horses. She will walk out on a loose rein and be relaxed. Since she has been with me, I have actually added a little more forwardness to her and helped her learn to step up into her gait. I have also started her on loping off when asked. We have ridden her alone, as well as in small and large groups. We have had her in mountain terrain where she has handled it well. She has worn the tail croup and packed saddle bags with no issues. On a recent camping trip we even let a child ride double for a while on the trail. While she is still young, she does have a sensible mind and a willing attitude. With that being said, she is of course still learning and becoming a seasoned mount, miles and wet saddle pads are what makes seasoned horses. She is well on her way and easy to work with, but is not a finished horse, just keep using her! Like most horses she will sometimes see something she is unsure of, but she isn’t over reactive. She is a nice young mare, well on her way and ready to be tailored into your mount! We recently hauled her with us to Honey Creek Horse Camp, on a weekend camping trip and she did good! I have ridden her in Big South Fork, Daniel Boone National Forest, and the local mountains of Eastern, Ky.
