Blake is a 16-year-old grade Quarter Horse/Paso Fino cross standing at 14hh. He’s a seasoned gelding with the confidence you want for trails and obstacles. When properly collected, he will gait. Blake offers no bite, buck, or rear. He is low in the herd hierarchy and gets along well with every horse we’ve pastured him with. Blake has excellent ground manners! He comes to you in the pasture like a big puppy dog, always eager for treats and affection. He stands patiently wherever he’s tied, whether on cross-ties, to a fence, a vehicle, or out in the woods. He’s great for both the farrier and the vet, and he loads and hauls like a pro. Blake is an easy keeper. He currently wears front shoes and is on a regular farrier schedule. He is up to date on all vaccinations and had his annual dental float on 4/8/25. Blake has been ridden extensively throughout Kentucky and parts of Middle Tennessee. He rides confidently alone or in a group and is surefooted on all types of terrain. He has been used primarily for trail riding and obstacle work. Blake is not spooky. He approaches everything with calm confidence. He’s been exposed to dogs, deer, turkeys, and other wildlife, as well as active young children, and remains unfazed. Machinery such as chainsaws, tractors, mowers, and weed whackers doesn’t bother him. He’s had guns fired from his back and has participated in mounted archery. He neck reins, side-passes, opens gates, crosses water, and willingly tackles any trail obstacle asked of him. Blake is gentle around children and enjoys their attention. He has been used for lead-line rides and trail obstacles in an arena setting. Because he is more forward moving on the trail, he would be best suited for an intermediate rider.
